The Geek Invasion Is Set To Begin In Jakarta At ITGCC!

The success of STGCC has spurred its organizer Reed Exhibitions to extend a similar blend of geeky fun and excitement to Jakarta later this year.

Reed Panorama Exhibitions (RPE) will be launching Indonesia Toy, Games and Comic Convention (ITGCC) at Hall C, JIExpo on 22-23 November 2014. This is the chance for Indonesian fans to get together and celebrate the love of manga, toys, comics, exclusives and collectibles! As in the case in Red Dot Island, the show will give local Indonesian creative folks an avenue to showcase their talent and product. Familiar segments of the show like panels, Walk of Fame and cosplay runways will also be held at ITGCC.

The launch of ITGCC is our next step to unite pop culture fans in Southeast Asia. After seven amazing editions in Singapore, we are glad to be able to bring the same excitement to Indonesia where all of loyal fans will have an opportunity to unite and enjoy the vibrant international content from the East and West,” said Ms Rita Magnus, Senior Manager, Project and Content, Pop Culture Cluster.

To help kickstart the celebration of East-West pop-culture at ITGCC are 5 guests from both sides of the globe.

Marvel's international talent scout C.B. Cebulski has been announced as one of the guests for ITGCC. A familiar face to many who have attended STGCC and many other conventions overseas, C.B. Cebulski is also an avid foodie who owns his own blog called eataku. So, local foodies in Jakarta should try to arrange to bring him around to all those yummy places! In addition, aspiring local artists should take note that C.B. Cebulski will be conducting portfolio reviews during ITGCC.

Next, is lifestyle brand tokidoki's LA-based creator Simone Legno. Simone is also well-loved and well known around the globe for his collaborations with names like Hello Kitty, Sephora and Karl Lagerfield. Simone is always gracious and gives a lot of time back to his fans. Indonesian Tokidoki fans should not miss the chance to say hello to him at ITGCC.

On the anime/ manga side of things are 3 renowned DJs from Japan - baker, Highdriver, and Yuyoyuppe. These personalities will be spinning tunes from Japanese games and anime during Indonesia's first ITGCC DJ Night. A perfect way for anime fans to party together!

These are exciting times indeed for pop-culture fans in Southeast Asia. Red Dot Diva can't wait to see all smiles, photos, and hear of the wonderful stories from Indonesian fans who have managed to meet their favourite idols at ITGCC.

To all Indonesian pop-culture fans attending ITGCC, please feel free to drop a note at Red Dot Diva's Facebook page and share about your experiences! She'd love to hear from you!
