FCBD 2013: "Supernatural" and "Suicide Squad" Fans - Meet Adam Glass in Singapore!

It's not too often that a writer of a popular TV series or comic or novel visits our Red Dot Island.

But this Friday 3rd May, as part of Kinokuniya's FCBD and "Meet The Writer" program, local fans will get a once-in-a-lifetime chance to meet someone who is both a comic book writer (DC's "Suicide Squad"/ Marvel's "Deadpool: Suicide Kings") and a staff writer on CW's  long-running TV series called Supernatural -  a drama show about two brothers (and other very bromance-y characters) who kick-butt in heaven, hell and everywhere in between.

Yep, you got it. The guest of the evening will be Adam Glass!

Red Dot Diva managed to catch hold of Adam earlier this week before he bravely endured a super-long flight here to say hello to local fans. What transpired was the fastest interview Red Dot Diva has ever done online: a Q-and-A quick-draw carried out on Twitter .

Red Dot Diva: Which Supernatural villain do you think would fit in with the Suicide Squad perfectly?
Adam: Abaddon played by Alaina Huffman would be perfect for the Squad. She's a knight of hell and her and Harley Quinn would be BFF's.

Red Dot Diva: Do you think villains are more fun to write, and why?
Adam: I like villains because they aren't so black and white, they do things that most people would never dream of, unless of course you're me.

Red Dot Diva: You hve been at the receiving end of vitriolic reactions from some fans regarding the depiction of specific characters in “Suicide Squad”. Were you ever in any real danger?
Adam: Criticism is part of the gig. As for danger, not sure, but if anything does happen to me start with the closest Harley cosplayer.

Red Dot Diva: Some people say “Supernatural” is like “Buffy on testosterone”. What are your reactions to this comparison?
Adam: I think Supernatural is its own thing, but we all owe a little debt to Buffy. It influenced a lot of genre shows you're seeing now.

Red Dot Diva: Would this be your first time to Singapore, and what do you expect from your trip here?
Adam: It is my first time there and my wife and I are very excited to check it out. I hear the food is amazing. We're foodies so that's good.

Good food? Mmmmm yesss.... Red Dot Diva hopes they will be well-acquainted with Hainanese chicken rice, satay, Indian rojak and laksa before they return home.

Adam and his wife are already right here on Red Dot Island enjoying the humidity and heat that would put the Suicide Squad on a suicide mission right away. If you want to show them even more local-style warmth, here's Adam's special message for y'all:

"Okay Singapore, time to let your geek flag fly and come check me, Adam Glass out at Kinokuniya Book store on May 3rd @ 7:30."

Red Dot Diva will deffo be there. Acting Supernatural, fangirlish and all that.
See you there! :D
