Kelly Marie Tran in Teaser Pic from Hulu's New Horror Anthology Series Monsterland

Fans of Kelly Marie Tran can look forward to her hyperspace jump from the Star Wars universe to a world of horror in Hulu's new anthology series called MONSTERLAND. In fact, you can check out the pic above to see Kelly Marie Tran as Lauren, wearing a wedding gown, from the episode entitled IRON RIVER, MI.

After the disappointing lack of Kelly Marie Tran screen time in the final instalment of Star Wars' Skywalker saga, Red Dot Diva hopes that the lovely actress will get to flex more of her acting skills in this series.

The 8-episode MONSTERLAND is inspired by American horror & dark fantasy writer Nathan Ballingrud's book NORTH AMERICAN LAKE MONSTERS, and is set to premiere on 2 October 2020.

The show's stories will take viewers on a twisted trip to the damaged psyche of the deeply flawed characters, woven in real and imagined encounters with mermaids, vampires, werewolves, and other strange beasts.

The cast also includes Kaitlyn Dever (Justified, Booksmart), Jonathan Tucker (The Black Donnellys, Parenthood, Westworld), Charlie Tahan (Ozark), Nicole Beharie (Sleepy Hollow), Hamish Linklater, Marquis Rodriguez, Bill Camp, Michael Hsu Rosen, Taylor Schilling, Roberta Colindrez, Adria Arjona, Trieu Tran, Mike Colter and Adepero Oduye. The series, produced by Annapurna Television, is created, written and executive produced by Mary Laws and executive produced by Babak Anvari, Lucan Toh, Megan Ellison and Sue Naegle. Ali Krug also serves as co-executive producer.

Hulu made a surprise promotional photo drop for on the series' Instagram account yesterday along with the tagline: “There’s a thin line between monster and man.

Streaming service Hulu is not available in Red Dot Island, so it is not certain if the show will arrive at our shores or not around the same time as its premiere in the U.S. However, some of Hulu's series do turn up on other outlets. For example, HBO Asia picked up the award-winning The Handmaid's Tale and viewers could catch Little Fires Everywhere on Amazon Prime. So, here's hoping that the local audience here will get to enjoy MONSTERLAND too!
