Singapore Comic Convention (SGCC) is finally back with an in-person event after a two year-break due to the Covid-19 pandemic. During the hiatus, the show changed hands from Reed Exhibitions Singapore to Generation Experience, and ran a virtual event in December 2021. This year, SGCC will return with an even bigger show, taking up 2 levels (Level 1 and B2) of the Sands Expo & Convention Centre on 10 & 11 December 2022.

Locally based designer toys and collectibles studio Mighty Jaxx is SGCC's key sponsor this year. They have released The SGCC XPass for those who are interested in a more unique experience. LIST OF GUESTS / EXHIBITORS
If you have read this article up to this point and are beginning to wonder -- Wait a minute.
What about the Guests??? Will we get to meet our pop-culture heroes like in past shows? Will we see our fan favourites at the SGCC exhibition hall again?
Red Dot Diva asked the same question, and was told that guest announcements are on its way. The event's press releases teases that there will be "award winning creators from across 28 countries". You can start putting your bets down as to who might make an appearance at the show.
Eagle-eyed sleuths would have already found clues in the list of exhibitors published on SGCC's website. Red Dot Diva noticed that media companies like Sony Pictures, Warner Bros. Pictures, MM2 Entertainment and Mediacorp are on the list. Does that mean there will be screenings and previews?
Also back on the exhibition hall this year are high-end collectibles company XM Studios, pewter manufacturer and retailer Royal Selangor and collectibles company Beast Kingdom. Publishing companies like Asiapac Books and Difference Engine will also exhibiting at SGCC 2022. Artists James Mulligan, Rachta Lin, Seth Adams and Samarasketch are also listed on the exhibitors page.
All in all, SGCC 2022 will be hosting more than 350 exhibitors and 420 brands, so the current published list is just the tip of the iceberg.
FOOD ZONE
Red Dot Diva knows what it's like being a passionate geeks navigating a busy comic convention. You either sneak out for a quick bite before hurrying back to catch up with the day's programme, or are prepared to be hangry by the end of the day.
This year's SGCC has catered a Food Zone at B2 for hungry attendees. All set to serve yummy dishes with a pop-culture slant are pop-up stores from LiHO, Gopizza, Blanco Court Beef Noodles, Cat and the Fiddle. It's the place to head to if you need t to get re-fueled. No more hunger pangs!
COVID SAFETY MEASURES
We are all eager to meet and interact with each other again at SGCC, but we also need to stay safe. After all, the pandemic is still on-going.
It is important to note that the convention mandates that all attendees have to be fully vaccinated and masked at the event. Vaccinations status will be checked upon entry to the event, so for the local attendees, do ensure that still have your Trace Together app on your mobiles.
While waiting for more SGCC announcements to come through, you can start counting down to Red Dot Island's biggest pop-culture extravaganza of the year. (Red Dot Diva says that there is 111 days more to go, which is nearly 16 weeks.) So, do use this time to gather your geek squad, save up money to buy your desired merchandise, and get your cosplay gear ready!
