Adam Driver Thanks Star Wars Fans Who Raised Over USD 54,000 for Arts in the Armed Forces

Actor Adam Driver, the talented man behind Kylo Ren/ Ben Solo in the latest Star Wars trilogy, has thanked his fans for the GoFundMe fundraiser for Arts in the Armed Forces (AITAF). AITAF is a non-profit organisation founded by Adam Driver and his wife Joanne Tucker. The organisation aims to bring the experience of the arts to those who are serving or who have served in the military as well as to their family members.

Here's Adam Driver sending his thanks to fans.
Awwwwww....  He is just too precious.

It is a pity that Star Wars fans got to see Ben Solo only for a few minutes before his fate was revealed in the “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” (TROS), but because of Adam Driver's beautiful, haunting performance, most wished he had more lines and scenes in the final instalment of the Skywalker saga.

Red Dot Diva thought that every TROS scene that focused on Adam Driver was perfect. From the way Kylo realised he had to brave his own demons and return to the light as Ben, to how Ben determinedly fought his way to save Rey, even if it meant sacrificing his own life. Every little gesture executed by Adam Driver as Ben that echoed his dad Han Solo (Harrison Ford) added to the heartbreak, as fans (especially the Reylos) wonder how different things might have been if Ben had lived.

As a thank you to Adam Driver's dedication and his unforgettable contribution as Kylo Ren/ Ben Solo in the Star Wars universe, reddit's r/starwarsleaks started the GoFundMe fundraiser on 19 December 2019. Soon after, news about it jumped onto Twitter, where even more fans got to know about the charity drive.

From an initial fundraising goal of USD 10,000, which was reached in no time, the level was later raised to USD 25,000. This was exceeded within a short timeframe as well. AITAF needs USD 31,000 to fund their programs for this year, and the 2,500 Adam Driver fans and Reylos have shown that they could even surpass that amount.

As it stands right now, the fundraiser is over USD 54,000 and growing. If you feel that you want to show support and 'send thank you hugs' to Adam Driver, please do so before the GoFundMe fundraiser ends on 14 January 2020.

It is amazing what a group of Star Wars fans can do through positive action. After all, as Rose Tico said, “That's how we're gonna win. Not by fighting what we hate. But saving what we love.

And we sure do love Adam Driver!
