Singtel TV Go May Be Worth A Go - AXN, MTV Live and MTV China Added to List of Channels!

Last week, local service provider Singtel invited a small group of bloggers including Red Dot Diva, for a special event held at Elements & Co Cafe. The night of simple fun and games was focused on providing the bloggers with a first-hand experience on their Singtel TV GO application, that allows one to tune into over 120 channels on the go!

Cutie Joakim Gomez, 98.7 FM's radio producer and presenter for "The Bro Code", was the lovely (and lively!) host for that evening.

Red Dot Diva brought her Evil Twin along to the event, and the first thing they did was download the Singtel TV Go app on a smartphone to see what it looks like.

It was too bad that the wifi in the cafe was slow that night. Despite of that, when the app was installed on Evil Twin's phone, Diva found the interface to be eye-catching and it held lots of information about the shows available. Mostly, it was easy to navigate the interface and screens to select your choice of TV programs.

In the midst of checking out the app, nomming on food bites and sipping down red wine, there was a simple quiz as well as a really fun moment when the different groups pitched each other to get the most completed lines or squares on Singtel BinGO.

Most of the tasks were very doable, but there was a couple that was pretty awkward - like the one mimicking the foot/ ankle-touching scene from Korean TV series "Descendants of the Sun". And how come nobody could sing the TV theme songs listed?? Red Dot Diva has to admit she even forgot how the "Friends" theme song is like! Getting old, lah. Hahahaa!

As bloggers, it was expected that almost everyone was Instagram crazy. Singtel had a fun photo booth set up, and so, this crazy bug-eyed thing happened:

The most hilarious thing about that photo was both Red Dot Diva and Evil Twin had to be on tippy toes for the shot so that the logos could be printed at the bottom of the photo! It is a good thing Diva practices yoga regularly. See? Core work is important when being a geek.

Plus, there was a social media photo contest for most creative post, and Wooohooo! Red Dot Diva won an "Orange Is The New Black" FUNKO Pop and a Google Chromecast. Thanks to this photo taken by the Evil Twin. She doesn't think it's very creative, but maybe Singtel liked her cheeky grin??

Thanks, Singtel!

During the event, Joakim Gomez announced that AXN (HD) has been added to Singtel TV's list of channels.  Fans can now tune into CH 304 and watch those exciting, biceptous dramas and movies like "Hawaii Five-O" (i.e. Diva's favourite guilty pleasure), long running series "Supernatural", "The Blacklist" and more. Those who follow the trials in the reality series "The Amazing Race Asia" must remember to check out Season 5, which will be aired on AXN Asia later this year.

Not forgetting the soccer fans, Singtel TV has also secured broadcast rights for UEFA Euro 2016 as well as Copa America 2016. So, even while you're commuting, you will be able to catch the matches on Football Fever 1 (CH141) and Football Fever 2 (CH142) using the Singtel TV Go application. Just don't disturb your fellow travellers by remembering to use your earphones! (Yep, that's a Red Dot Diva PSA right there.)

Red Dot Diva remembers the time when Singtel's mio TV started out in 2007. She found it difficult to get on board with mio due to the meagre choice of channels offered. After the rebranding of mio to Singtel TV, the list of channels provided has grown tremendously, and it is becoming a strong competitor to the island's other main cable TV company, Starhub.

In fact, Singtel TV now includes AMC Asia (HD) (CH 322) - home of popular series "Halt and Catch Fire", the recent spy mini-series adaptation of John Le Carre's "The Night Manager" and those with wonderful story-telling, like "Humans" and "Into the Badlands". This channel is not yet available on Starhub.

In addition to the current list channels, Singtel is going to make a lot of music lovers happy with their latest announcement about the launch of MTV Live (CH349) and MTV China (CH550) on Singtel TV. With MTV's vast library of programs, the MTV Live channel is a great way to watch one's favourite band's or singer's "live" recorded performances at festivals, concerts and studio sessions.

The new channels - AXN (HD), MTV Live and MTV China - will be available for free preview to all Singtel TV subscribers from 27 May 2016 to 23 June 2016. Do check them out!

Better still, download the Singtel TV Go from Apple's iTunes or Google Play, and watch the programs on your smart devices via wifi. If you're already a Singtel TV subscriber, it might be worthwhile to get onto the service. No need to fight with Mom when she needs to watch her Korean drama serials any more!
