"Space, MN" Gets Freaky And Ready

Lovers of non-superheroes tales and conspiracy theories, or simply creepy things, would enjoy an upcoming graphic novel called "Space, MN".

There is something very weird going on in Space lately. And its small town cops are trying their best to figure out what is the cause of all these. As expected, there are nosy journalists and wily politicians involved in the fray. And as the story progresses, it all begins to reek of something ominous and things get as mysterious as the Cheshire Cat.

Speaking about cats... Red Dot Diva thinks she has probably come across one of the creepiest in "Space, MN". *shudder*

If one could recall, Red Dot Diva had an interview with one of the creators Shawn DePasquale, in April earlier this year. At that time, the novel was in the process of being coloured. (Read the previous interview and some preview pages here.)

Partying the "Lucid" Hardcover Release - LA Style!

When Archaia said there was going to be free drinks at the "Lucid" Vol. 1 Hardcover release party at Golden Apple comics store in LA, they sure weren't kidding!

"Lucid" is a graphic novel created by Michael McMillian (that vamp-hating Rev Steve Newlin in "True Blood"), who is a long-time friend of Before The Door (BTD) Productions.

The graphic novel series is a collaboration between BTD and publishing company Archaia, and tells the action-packed story of Matthew Dee - a powerful covert spy-mage with a perpetual sexy bedhead (of course, Red Dot Diva notices!) - who strives to protect the humankind from very evil conspiracies of a magickal nature.

Ssshhhh... There's A Conspiracy Happening in Space, MN....

Small town conspiracies are usually creepy. But they can be such good stories if told adeptly. Red Dot Diva wonders if anyone remembers "American Gothic"??

One such tale of dark schemes called "Space, MN", is currently in the works. It is set to be published by Arcana Comics in the graphic novel medium.

The writer-creator of "Space, MN" is Shawn Depasquale. Red Dot Diva got to know Shawn when he was the letterer for the covert-spy-mage comic series, "Lucid", published by Archaia. She also interviewed him last year for his work in "Lucid". (Do check out the previous interview with Shawn on the sister blog, ZQBiceps!)

From the sneak peaks she saw, "Space, MN" starts off unexpectedly and suspiciously enough with a bloodied cat. Yep, one heard it right - a kitty-cat. That progressed soon enough to a quick introduction of some apparently key characters - a cop, a reporter and a politician.

But Red Dot Diva thinks it's best to let the comic's creator tell us what "Space, MN" is essentially about. Right?
