While gazillion "Game of Thrones" fans have been waiting impatiently for Season 7 to arrive, a new trailer was released by HBO. The cable channel had sneakily usurped the summer solstice with the battle cry that #WinterIsHere.
Needless to say, the action-filled trailer got the GoT fans going Stark crazy.
Red Dot Diva herself spotted a huge grin on her face that looked somewhat like this (minus those awesome sharp teeth):

Any hardcore "Game of Thrones" fan must have watched the new trailer multiple times by now, trying to piece together the sneak peeks of various characters in different locations. There are a host of geek websites and podcasts that have broken down each teaser scene in detail, so Red Dot Diva is not going to rehash that.
All she is going to say is, not only #WinterIsHere, #WarIsComing also. Massive, fiery, bloody wars that seem to be the focus of the season, as the various houses and their alliances begin to converge.
Here are scenes that Red Dot Diva is eager to watch in Season 7:
- Did you ever notice that for all her cruelty and coldheartedness, Cersei has such a soft girlish voice? It is one of the most chilling paradox that comes with Lena Headey's riveting performance. What will become of Queen Cersei's fate? Her brother and lover is not going to be pleased with what she has done, while Tyrion has already aligned with Daenerys. Is betrayal in the cards?
- Now that Jon Snow's heritage has been confirmed. Will he meet Aunty Daenerys, and, best of all, get to ride on a dragon? Currently, in the trailers, Jon is seen fighting Wildlings beyond the Wall. Is the alliance formed by the Starks strong enough to head toward King's Landing or are they seeing a bigger picture, and shoring up the North, knowing that #WinterIsHere.
- Talking about dragons. YES, More Dragons! More fiery dragon action!! Not just Drogon who seem to get all the glamour these days. Bring on more Rhaegal and Viserion!
- Rumah Sotong, er, sorry... House Greyjoy is still in play. Yara Greyjoy aligned herself with Daenerys last season, noticeably with a dash of hot flirtation on the side. Uncle Euron, on the other hand, is going to align with the Lannisters with his large fleet of ships. This means an all out Ironborn naval battle scene is definitely in the works, and Red Dot Diva bets it is going to be monumental.
- Last season's Battle of the Bastards was the BEST ground battle scene Red Dot Diva has ever seen on a TV series. As a viewer, you could follow the action of the characters involved in the ensuing mayhem, and it was as if one was right there in the battle field, feeling the fury up close and personal. Season 7 is ripe for another massive battle scene. This time it will be Lannisters vs Targaryen, with House T consisting of the armies of the Unsullied and Dothraki... as well as DRAGONS! Red Dot Diva is already feeling the excitement just typing this paragraph.
- The trailer has teased about the return of badass characters like Beric Dondarrion and the Hound, who are fighting together with Jon Snow beyond the Wall. With these two back in the game, there could be some more reunions here. Will Arya bump into The Hound again, and will Cleganebowl happen? There's one other character which Red Dot Diva would like to see return in S7 - the lovesick Ser Jorah. He was loyal and brave, a more honest creature to many other sleazier characters out there. Red Dot Diva hopes he gets the cure for his Grayscale and returns to fight for his Queen.

- Red Dot Diva noticed that fan favourite Tormund Giantsbane is featured prominently as one of the 12 promo posters released recently. Does this mean that he and Brienne of Tarth will have the chance to get it on? Just check out that sexy look he is giving her in the promo photo above! Hubba, hubba! :D
- "When the snow falls, and the white winds blow. The lone wolf dies but the pack survives," recites Sansa in the latest trailer. Does this spell of a long awaited reunion of the remaining Stark siblings? Red Dot Diva almost shed a tear when Sansa finally saw Jon again at Castle Black last season. However, after all that she has been through, Sansa is forever a changed woman. Her decision to have the dastardly and cunning Littlefinger by her side even after he had betrayed her so cruelly, is curious. The look that crossed between the two when Jon was pronounced King of the North in Season 6 hints of hidden agendas and ambitions. What kind of long game is Team Sansa-Baelish playing?
- Last but not least, with the hashtag #WinterIsHere and his profile being featured in key promo materials, it is no surprise that the Night King will be one of the central figures to look out for in Season 7. He is coming for all of them, but what is his true purpose and what is wildcard Bran Stark's connection in all of this? Regardless of his intention, the Night King (and those frosty baby blues) looks absolutely badass, and every scene that he is in fills Red Dot Diva's mind with wonder!
- The series' producers have announced that the Season 7 finale will be the longest "Game of Thrones" episode to date. With a runtime of 81 minutes, it is almost on par with a big screen movie! There is definitely more drama, more violence, crucial alliances, victories and defeats happening in Westeros this coming season, and with that extra 10+ minutes, the showrunners expect to wow us even more. What scenes in the season finale are going to make the audience's jaws drop like they have never been dropped before ? Red Dot Diva can't wait to find out!
"Game of Thrones" Season 7 will premiere exclusively on HBO (StarHub TV Ch 601) at the same time as the U.S. - 9 AM on Monday, 17 July 2017.
