Buffy fans, raise your stakes!
Have you missed your favourite Slayer?
Red Dot Diva was excited to learn that Sarah Michelle Gellar will be back regularly on one's TV screen this 2011's Fall TV season.
Petite Sarah hasn't been in much limelight ever since "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" ended. Other than the horror movie "The Grudge", her other TV/ movie endeavours have been rather underwhelming. So, it would be interesting to see how her return to regular TV work will fare.
This fall, Sarah will be returning to the home of "Buffy" - The CW Network. The promising new show is called "Ringer" and Sarah Michelle Gellar stars as Bridget, a young woman who went on a run after witnessing a murder. She visits her estranged, rich twin sister Siobhan, who is living in NYC. But one day, Siobhan went suspiciously missing. Bridget decided to take on the identity of her lost sister, and discovers some very dangerous secrets.
Here's the teaser trailer of "Ringer" here:
And 2-minute preview of the thriller:
"Ringer" also stars Kristoffer Polaha as Henry, Ioan Gruffudd (**SQUEE!!!**) as Andrew Martin, "Lost" 's Mr Eyelashes himself, Nestor Carbonell as Agent Victor Machado and Tara Summers as Gemma.
From what Red Dot Diva has seen in the news, the show has been picking up some buzz with the media folks. Maybe because compared to the slew of teenage-angsty shows on CW, "Ringer" is more adult-fare drama but not as gritty as the cop shows on CBS, let's say. And the older but still appealing SMG would be a suitable lure for the network's attempt to garner more mature female viewers.
"Ringer" will air on Tuesday nights, with "90210" as its lead-in.
There remains only one question that is currently on Red Dot Diva's mind:
- Will Ioan Gruffudd be speaking in his own native accent in "Ringer" ? -
Time will tell.
