LEGO Ninjago Lands at Plaza Singapura from 28 August to 10 September 2017

Do you love ninjas? Especially Ninjas in LEGO form? Oh, and what about dragons? Yes... That too?
Then, you must already be a fan of the Ninjago line from LEGO!

The  LEGO Ninjago Movie is set to open at theatres in September, and the marketing vehicle is out in full force.

Red Dot Diva's friend, Jas the "adult kid", was at the  LEGO Ninjago Challenge Event at Plaza Singapura yesterday. Here's her report on how much fun she had while she was there.

------------------------------------

Similar to the activity booths that were launched at ION when The LEGO Batman Movie opened in cinemas, the LEGO Ninjago Movie has set up a challenge event held at Plaza Singapura.

There is a pop up store by Bricks World selling various Lego sets across the different brands, but of course LEGO Ninjago sets take up the most prominent display.

The LEGO #NINJAGOCHALLENGE Event Play Area consists of 4 stations, the Briefing Station 1, where a staff will explain to you what the entire event is about. (Note that the staff might dissuade adults if there is a line of little kids already waiting in line. Try to gather your own “team” of 3 adult players to take part in the same time slot!)

Here's Dojo Station 2, where you have to build a simple Ninja mask.

A simple and straightforward task, really.

Next up is the Jitsu Station, where you are free to build a simple Mech for keeps. (I'm not going to show off mine since it's less of a proper Mech build and more of a kiasu-stick as many bricks as possible to fit construct. To be frank, there aren't that many good parts to work with anyway.)

The last station, the Mech Station is just a photobooth background. Have fun posing!

What's your prize for competing all four stations?

You get to walk away with your own Ninja minifig! Choose from white, red, blue or green ninja!
Here's my red Ninja!

Don't forget that the first 50 people daily to screenshot Lloyd catching his weapon can redeem a
Master Wu keychain polybag! Redemption starts from 11 AM.

Here's the link for the Facebook game: https://www.facebook.com/LEGOSingapore/videos/1625085304229034/

For friends with non-ninja reflexes, here's a handy screenshot you can borrow to show the staff!

Do note that the polybag is only redeemable ONCE per NRIC for the entire event duration.

Besides the free activities and gifts, there are also rewards for spending, with gifts such as
Ninja Masks and 1 x LEGOLAND discount voucher. Click here for more details about these special rewards.

Here are some of the LEGO Ninjago builds that are on display too.

There are also life-sized LEGO Ninjago figures, including this one:

Since the event is held during the school holidays, it's a great way to get the young ones to have a some fun and hands on experience with LEGO building. Adults can try to see if they'll get a chance to enjoy the event too.

Thanks for the photos and write-up, Jas!

Check out the trailer for the LEGO Ninjago Movie.
The movie looks as funny and entertaining as the LEGO Batman movie and Red Dot Diva is really looking forward to watching it!

The movie features actors like Dave Franco, Justin Theroux, Fred Armisen, Abbi Jacobson, Olivia Munn, Kumail Nanjiani, Michael Peña, Zach Woods, and the legendary Jackie Chan! Jackie Chan also choreographed the fight scenes for the characters, the first time he's ever done something like this for LEGO brick figures.

Watch the behind the scenes featurette below. It's pretty awesome to see how the real life kung fu moves translate to animated LEGO minifigures!
