The date of November 13 looms near, and it's a somewhat terrifying thought for Red Dot Diva.
Why? That's when Disney's animated movie "Big Hero 6" will be premiering in theatres island-wide, and Red Dot Diva is not sure if she can handle the extreme kawaii-ness of inflatable robotic nurse, Baymax! Ahhhhhhh!!
Just when she thought she was about to get over Dancing Baby Groot, here comes another cute huggable thing to coo over. *whimper* HELP!
The team behind "Frozen" and "Wreck-It-Ralph" returns - this time with Walt Disney Animation Studios' adaptation of a defunct Marvel comic with the same name.
Set in the city of San Fransokyo (obviously a mix of two very familiar cities in present-day Earth. No prizes for which ones...), it is a story of how nerds rule the world when child genius Hiro Hamada (voice by Ryan Potter) embarks on an action-filled adventure with his close friends - hyperactive Go Go Tomago (voice by Jamie Chung), super-smart martial artist Wasabi (voice by Damon Wayans Jr), Honey Lemon the chemistry whiz (voice by Genesis Rodriguez) and laid-back comic book fanboy Fred (voice of T.J. Miller). Together with Baymax (voice by Scott Adsit), who was developed by Hiro's elder brother Tadashi, the high-tech geek team sets out to solve a mystery and battle evil after tragedy strikes their home town.
"Big Hero 6" is directed by Don Hall (“Winnie the Pooh”) and Chris Williams (“Bolt”), and produced by Roy Conli (“Tangled”).
While Red Dot Diva was away on a holiday break, blog reader Jas spotted a big Baymax figurine at Bishan Junction 8.
Did anyone else spot more "Big Hero 6" related promos around?
In any case, all things "Big Hero 6" should be heating up pretty soon. Red Dot Diva got word that there will a host of promotional activities happening at Bugis Junction Atrium this coming weekend. Head to the mall to admire the display of Baymax figurines designed by NAFA students, grab those Baymax balloon giveaways, try kicking ass at the Disney Infinity game kiosk, take selfies at the Instagram photo booth and more!
For those who love scores and songs written specially for movies, get ready to download the original motion picture soundtrack which will be available at on iTunes, Spotify, AMPed and all other digital platforms from November 4. American rock band Fall Out Boy has written an original song entitled “Immortals” for "Big Hero 6" , and the soundtrack music from Henry Jackman, the amazing composer behind evocative theme songs from several movies like “Captain America: The Winter Soldier”, “X-Men: First Class”, “Wreck-It-Ralph” and more.
Red Dot Diva has an invite for the "Big Hero 6" preview this coming Saturday, 8 November. She has no doubt that the film will consist of all those feel-good things Walt Disney Studios is known for - joyous action-pack sequences and precious heartfelt moments wrapped in child-like wonder with just the right dollop of smarts and sensibility. So, do watch out for Red Dot Diva's review of the movie next week - *if* she survives the cuteness overload that is Baymax!
Everyone, watch the "Big Hero 6" trailer and say "awwwww" again:
