So many superheroes, mutants and aliens are dropping by the Red Dot Island these days.
Just when you thought you flew back into a future past, folks from Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy" are set to land their feet here in a couple of weeks!!
It is making Red Dot Diva wonder if that asymmetrical flower-shape structure stationed below the ship-building at Marina Bay is actually a beacon to stars in galaxies beyond.
If news haven't gotten around to you yet, Zoe Saldana and Dave Bautista as well as director James Gunn will be walking down the red carpet on 12 July (Sat) at Shaw Centre. (Updated 30 June: Expected time - 6:30 PM. Now you know what time to camp out!)
Right from the release of its first teaser, "Guardians of the Galaxy" has made fans around the globe waiting impatiently for the movie to be out in theatres. The anticipation was heightened as the actors were being announced for the characters, followed by those really fun, snappy, snarky trailers.
In the movie, Zoe Saldana goes green as Gamora and professional wrestler/bodybuilder/MMA star Dave Bautista shows off his muscles as Drax the Destroyer.
It's too bad, some of the other pretty faces behind the motley crew of underdogs like Chris Pratt (Peter Quill/ Starlord), Vin Diesel (Groot), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon) and the movie's baddie, Lee Pace (Ronan the Accuser) are not flying into town for the local premiere. (By the way, in case you missed this piece of news - fan favourite Nathan Fillion also has a cameo appearance in the movie!)
Channel 5, the official TV channel for "Guardians of the Galaxy" has already announced their contest for lucky winners to win exclusive access to the premiere and exclusive footage screening. Click on this link to join the contest!
Red Dot Diva is sure more local media will be running their own contests soon so keep an eye out for the news on social media.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" will also have red carpet premieres in other cities - places which are pretty much expected.
On 21 July, Hollywood pulls out the red carpet at the El Capitan Theatre for the premiere of "Guardians of the Galaxy". Red Dot Diva knows that many fans are hoping "Guardians of the Galaxy" will make a strong appearance in San Diego for Comic-Con. But she highly doubts this will happen.
The fun tidbit is that Red Dot Diva will be at Los Angeles on 21 July before she heads to Comic-Con. As to whether she will summon enough perky energy to station at the barricades from noon to about 7 to 7:30 PM when the stars usually arrive, is another matter.
And on 24 July, the stars will descend on London's Empire IMAX Leicester Square for the European premiere of the movie. The celebrities are expected to walk down the red carpet at about 5:30 PM.
"Guardians of the Galaxy" is set to open locally at cinemas islandwide on 31 July.
