Win Tickets to Puss in Boots: The Retail Romp Escape Game on 3 September 2017

Uh-oh!! An heir apparent of Castle Corp named Marcus Carabas has gone missing!

Black Cat Detective Agency has been called to solve the mystery of his disappearance and save Marcus before something furry terrible happens.

On 2 and 3 September 2017, Orchard Gateway is the setting for a whole mew, multiplay game called "Puss in Boots: The Retail Romp", which means players are not confined in a room like other escape games.

As players switch on their detective brain cells, the game's clues (with many red herrings, as to be expected!) will set you pitter-pattering around all four floors of the mall in a highly interactive manner.

Neo Tokyo Project, the mastermind of this mystery romp, has set aside a goodie bag (worth $35 of vouchers and products, including including a $10 voucher from i.t.; a $10 voucher from Outback Steakhouse; $10 voucher from Porcelain Aesthetics; a free drink voucher from Mico Cup - just to name a few!) for each player.

Players will also be pooled into a lucky draw and have a chance to win:

* 1x LED Teeth Whitening worth $999 + Mishha Super Aqua Ice Tear Special Set worth $70 + 1x Bella Marie France $200 Body Care voucher + Bella Marie France $100 skin care voucher (total worth $1,369)

* 1x Scalp Detox Therapy (45 mins) @ $388 + Mishha Super Aqua Ice Tear Special Set worth $70 + 1x Bella Marie France $200 Body Care voucher + 1x Bella Marie France $100 skin care voucher (total worth $758)

* 4x Scalp Detox Therapy (45 mins) @ $388 + Missha Time Revolution Night Repair Science Activator Ampoule 40ML worth $49 + 1x Bella Marie France $200 Body Care voucher + 1x Bella Marie France $100 skin care voucher (total worth $737)

If your teams are two of the fastest in solving the mystery, you will stand a chance to win staycations at Hotel Jen orchardgateway worth over $500, as well as many other clawsome prizes! The best 2 teams will win:

* 1x 2D1N Stay in Club Room inclusive of Daily Breakfasts for 2 (worth $600) + 2x Bella Marie France $200 Body Care voucher + 2x Bella Marie France $100 skin care voucher (total worth $1,200)

* 1x 2D1N Stay in Superior Cityview Room inclusive of Daily Breakfasts for 2 (worth $500) + 2x Bella Marie France $200 Body Care voucher + 2x Bella Marie France $100 skin care voucher (total worth $1,100)

Click here if you can sign up for Puss in Boots: The Retail Romp.
There are 3 game sessions per day.

Each ticket is $20 but the goodie bag is really good, so it offsets the cost of participating in the game.

So, why not gather a group of friends with great Catitude, and have a Pawsitively memorable few hours playing "Puss in Boots: The Retail Romp"??

ICDS 2015: Meet Guest-of-Honour Cosplayer Jin (behindinfinity) at *Scape 22 & 23 August 2015!

Red Dot Diva tips her hat off to cosplayers in general. These hardworking folks invest a lot of their time and soul into their craft. With many cosplay and anime events happening all year round in Red Dot Island, active cosplayers are almost always hard at work imagining, planning, designing and working on their costumes.

What's different about International Cosplay Day compared to other similar events is that it is an annual worldwide celebration that occurs on the last Saturday of August. So, even if one does not have a convention to go to, it would be a good excuse to get into a costume and gather with some friends to celebrate the joy and camaraderie of cosplay.

In Red Dot Island though, International Cosplay Day Singapore (ICDS) has taken on a local flavour. Fellow geeks from The Neo Tokyo Project have been organizing a fan-driven weekend gathering for the last 6 years!

This year's edition of ICDS, which will remain at *Scape, is held on 22 & 23 August, 11 AM to 7 PM. The website was updated a few weeks ago, and holds some interesting information, including the name of a special guest.

International Cosplay Day Singapore 2013 Just Around The Corner!

Local cosplayers must be having it real busy these days!

Not only would most of them be preparing for STGCC on 31 August to 1 September 2013 (and arguably the biggest local pop-culture event of the year), there is also a cosplay-centric event happening in two weeks!

Founded by cosplayer Jennifer Alice, International Cosplay Day is a fan-based celebration of the diversity in cosplay and pop-culture.

This year's International Cosplay Day Singapore (ICDS) 2013 will be held on 25th August at *SCAPE's The Warehouse (Level 2), from 10 AM to 8 PM. And the theme is all about Science and Magic!

ICDS 2012: Insights from Cosplayers Yaya Han and Jerry Polence

Yaya and Jerry on stage for their panel
Originating initially from the world of manga, anime and games, cosplayers are now a staple of almost any pop-culture convention.

In recent years, interest in cosplay has been gaining ground with Red Dot Islanders. Even some senior citizens are getting into the fray!

While a high percentage of cosplayers still focus on  anime or game characters, Red Dot Diva thinks that there have been more cosplayers who are getting into the "Western" characters. For example, the superheroes and supervillains from comics, or iconic characters in popular TV series and Hollywood movies.

Whatever they choose to dress up as, cosplayers sure liven up the geek culture scene in so many different ways.

Get Your Wigs On For International Cosplay Day Singapore 2012

Do the names like Yaya Han, Jerry Polente and Jay Tablante mean anything to you?

If you are squeeing (or going into excited convulsions) at the thought of the three names, then Red Dot Diva supposes she would most probably see you at the inaugural International Cosplay Day Singapore (ICDS) held on 26 August 2012 at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

ICDS is a fan-based cosplay and pop-culture convention organized by The Neo Tokyo Project team and community. The Neo Tokyo Project folks are very active in cosplay locally, and Red Dot Diva got to know of them only in recent times. Thanks to the team, she has gained some insight to that intriguing world of cosplay through a stream of tidbits on her social network feed.

With the aim to celebrate the diversity of cosplay and pop-culture, ICDS also coincides with International Cosplay Day celebrations around the globe.
