NYCC 2011: Diva's Stalking Schedule Is Shaping Up!

The NYCC 2011 countdown begins! Only 19 days away!!

And this week, the full panel schedule was finally announced, with some interesting ones that Red Dot Diva will definitely be targetting for.

As NYCC is still primarily a comic convention, it has (thankfully) not been inundated with too much Hollywoody stuff. But if one is so inclined, there are still some cool TV/ movie-related panels to check out!

This is Red Dot Diva's first time at NYCC, so she is trying to balance things out during the convention weekend and trying not to pack too events in her schedule.

However, there are particular panels that Red Dot Diva simply *will not* ... *cannot* miss.

At the top of the list is the Spotlight panel with original Star Wars trilogy actor/ famous voice actor - Mark Hamill. AHhhhhh!!!! Most probably way before 7:30pm at MTV Theater 1A10, Red Dot Diva is already staking out for this widely anticipated session. This is also Mark Hamill's first time at NYCC, which makes it even more special.

Then, there is the other very important panel - Marvel Studios on "The Avengers" movie!! (Saturday evening, 6:30pm - 7:30pm at the IGN Theatre) W000t!

Marvel promises more footage from the Joss Whedon-directed movie, which will be released in May 2012 and there has been mention of possible "special guests". Who these will be have not been announced yet but it is all super-exciting news indeed!

And prior to the Marvel "The Avengers" panel is AMC's "The Walking Dead" session with creator Robert Kirkman at 5.16pm - 6.15pm in the same IGN Theatre. So, this makes the zombie-superheroes stalking thing even more convenient for Red Dot Diva and her convention buddies. And they will get to watch a sneak peak of S2 of "The Walking Dead" too!

There is another movie-related panel which may interest lots of people, especially since it consists of a hot favourite from the HBO hit series "Game of Thrones". The tall hunky Jason Momoa will be appearing for a "Conan the Barbarian" spotlight panel on Sunday, 10am - 11am at 1A22, together with Rose McGowan and Stephen Lang. Red Dot Diva is still not sure if she will be at this panel, but if her schedule is open, she would most probably try to!

And in between, she is targetting to attend indie publishing company, Archaia's panels, Jane Espenson's panel new webseries "Husbands", a couple of comics-related panels including the one by Legendary Comics with Frank Miller (*swoon to The Hat*), and indulge in some yummy (possibly foxy) man-wiches. Especially during food breaks.

Artists' Alley/ Cultyard
Looking at the list of artists/ guests who will be at this year's NYCC Artists' Alley, Red Dot Diva might have quite a bit of stalking to do in this section of the show hall.

Even between now and the actually convention, she has been introduced by friends to check out a couple of artists at Artists' Alley - Chrissie Zullo ("Cinderella: From Fabletown with Love"/ "Fables") and Heubert Michael ("Gutters"/ "DC Universe Holiday Special 2009").

Then, there are others whom Red Dot Diva has been hoping to meet or re-connect like Brent Schoonover "Mr Murder Is Dead"), Dennis Calero ("Devil Inside"/ the upcoming "Immortals" prequel) and David Marquez ("Syndrome"/ "Days Missing"/ "Fantastic Four: Season 1"). And over at the Cultyard, Red Dot Diva is eager to say sunny hellos to toy designer Andrew Bell.

Of course, there are the insanely popular artists, like David Mack and Mike Mignola, who are also having booths at Artists' Alley. Whether Red Dot Diva will actually get to meet these people, will highly depend on skilful stalking, opportune timing and lucky chances.

What are mostly missing now are the autograph signing schedules for the various guests. And Red Dot Diva can't wait to see if some of the sessions will match with her free time slots!(Fan favourite James Marsters, anyone??! It will be Red Dot Diva's third time meeting him if she gets to see him in New York!)

Meanwhile, the NYCC show floor plan has already been released. (Click here for the interactive floor plan!) Now, the floor plan is a very important tool for hurtling one's physical body from one room to the next at top speed, especially when two events are held close to each other. So, Red Dot Diva will be poring over this floor plan again before the convention begins for the best use of time and space.

She is definitely getting all ready to perv her NYCC targets good and proper.

She sincerely hopes they are ready for her too.
